Bespoke TV Media Cabinets & Entertainment Centres
Finding the right TV Stand or Media Cabinet is not always that easy, how about investigating a custom made, bespoke solution.
Today we can have a surprisingly large number of electrical entertainment units in our home. From the television itself, to the new craze for vinyl records; to an array of freeview, Virgin Media Sky, and BT boxes; to bluray, DVD, CD, amplifier and music systems in a multitude of forms and sizes. That’s before we even mention the gaming world with all those X Boxes and Playstations. So is it an wonder that coming across the perfect storage cabinet to fit all these different sizes and shapes is going to be a tall order!
Of course you could just go for an open shelf unit chosen on the basis of your largest media unit but perhaps it will not look that great. One solution might be to have your media storage or entertainment centre custom made to fit your particular TV / music / gaming set up.
We have, at AKD Furniture, been making and supplying custom made and bespoke TV Cabinets and Media Storage Units since 2008. And, by the way, these items are not expensive when compared with like cabinets. Our media storage cabinets are hand made in mahogany and can be in variety colours from light, medium or dark mahogany, to several white, black, grey painted finishes or alternatively constructed in teak which has its own unique beauty. As such these cabinets are not only highly practical but are absolutely beautiful pieces of furniture in their own right.
The huge advantage of having your TV cabinet bespoke made is that you can decide on the actual layout and size of the shelves, cupboards, drawers, cable holes and so on. Not only that you can choice the model you like, in this way you do not have to compromise on either the style or practicality of the cabinet.
Let’s have a look at an example. The units below all started off as the same model, that is a Georgian style cabinet with the reeded columns as in the first picture, with a couple of cupboards and drawers and a central shelf at 164 cm wide. This has then have been adapted and altered to meet a customer’s needs as in the four gallery pictures below that. Such as including CD or DVD storage drawers, changing th plinth base to round feet or lengthening the unit to 3.5 metres (last picture) and having 6 large drawers along the base to hold a large collection of those wonderful old vinyl records.
There is something cool about marring older furniture styles from the Victorian, Georgian or Regency periods with the ultra modern sound and gaming systems we have now. But don’t worry if this is not for you, there are a number of other, more modern designs as you can see within this article and in the following pictures, so whatever TV Cabinet style you like there is surely one just for you.
